Lead Developer & Data Engineer - BP Nova project

As the Lead Developer and Data Engineer for the Nova project, I have been responsible for overseeing the technical implementation and end-to-end delivery of key functionalities. My role includes:

• Coordinating with the project team to plan, prioritize, and execute development tasks in alignment with business requirements.
• Leading the implementation of new features, ensuring technical soundness, scalability, and alignment with architectural standards.
• Managing data engineering activities, including the design and maintenance of pipelines, data integration with external sources, and troubleshooting data quality issues.
• Engaging with multiple stakeholders—including product owners, support teams, and final users—to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure that the solution meets operational and strategic needs.
• Providing ongoing support for production issues, coordinating fixes, and continuously improving system performance and reliability.
• Representing the development team in cross-functional discussions and presentations, communicating technical progress

Research Assistant – ÓMICAS Project

Contributed to the Multi-scale In-silico Optimization of Sustainable Agricultural Crops project (ÓMICAS), addressing the problem of predicting gene functional annotations. Utilized gene co-expression networks, graph theory, and machine learning techniques to analyze and solve the problem.

Research and Teaching Assistant – Pontificia Universidad Javeriana

• Research Assistant – Colciencias / AVISPA Group
  Participated in two research projects:

  1. Analyzed social media conversations related to peace in Colombia.
  2. Studied concurrent multi-agent systems involving flows of facts and lies using rewriting logic.

• Adjunct Lecturer – Department of Electronics and Computer Science
  Taught undergraduate courses in Computational Tools and Analysis and Design of Algorithms for the Systems and Computing Engineering program.
